Shabir Moosa

Dr Shabir Moosa is a Family Physician, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Witwatersrand and acting Chief Specialist (Coordinator: Family Medicine & PHC) in the Gauteng Provincial Department of Health, South Africa. He has been involved in the development of Family Medicine in Gauteng since July 2004. He is married to Ayesha and has an 18 year old daughter, Zahra. He has a history of General Practice in Kokstad, Kwa-Zulu Natal Province since 1990 with community and political activism since his youth. He has a Diploma in PHC Service Management (Wits P&DM) (1998), Masters in Family Medicine (MEDUNSA-Limpopo) (2005) and is currently studying for a Masters in Business Administration at Wits.
